Big boy (official numbers edition)

From September 24
We stopped by our family doctor for a quick appointment today to check Eli's thrush (which isn't getting better, but isn't a concern unless he starts to show signs that it's hurting him), and, as is routine with baby appointments, they checked his weight. The official stats for his enormousness are:

Weight: 15 lbs., 9 oz. (99.9999th percentile--they said 100th, but, to paraphrase Brian, that's statistically nonsensical)
Length: 24.5 inches (97th percentile)

Wow. Thank goodness for my abundant supply of milk! :)

He's currently wearing three- and six-month size clothing, and I think it's time to move him into #2 diapers.

Eli let loose with his first giggle yesterday while sitting outside in the backyard with Brian. He's spending much longer stretches of time awake, and he smiles and chatters, usually alternating one with the other--he likes to talk while he's smiling and listening to us talk to him. He is still very much a "barnacle baby"; his preferred sleep location is right up against my body (where he's sleeping right now as I type, actually); because of his very attached-to-mommy nature, our family doc chatted with me quite a bit today about how my lower back is feeling while I carry his big self around all day. It's still working very well for us to be stroller-less, but I did have to upgrade to a wrap carrier made of non-stretchy material earlier this week. My old red Moby wrap is stretchy, and Eli's weight was starting to stretch it out too much--he'd be in the right position when we started, but a couple of hours later he'd be much too low on my torso, which made it hard on my back. Now, my new wrap doesn't stretch, and it's also wider, so it fits significantly better.
