Back to Work

As of yesterday, I (Brian) have used up all of my time off. I had three weeks of time off, and I am back at work today (I am currently compiling 3 weeks worth of code changes, so it is taking a while). Today is also Cara's first day at home alone all day with the baby. She has been doing such a great job as a mom that I don't think it will be as hard as she thinks it will be.

The last few weeks have been nice. I set up my "Keg-o-rator" with a tap handle coming out of a refrigerator, watched a good 8 or 9 Bond films (All with Connery) and played a 1/3 of the way through my new Zelda game. I guess I am saying that although the time was stressful as a new parent, I found ways to enjoy some things that I like to do.

I even managed to put together a really nice meal for C and I last night. The butcher out at Sparrow Meats gave me a great deal on a rack of lamb. I roasted it up with some mashed potatoes and a pan sauce with a bottle of wine... and we got a chance to say goodbye to my vacation in style.

The next few weeks will be very simple: I will work during the day as Cara takes care of the Baby. In the evening, I will spend time with the baby and get chores put behind us. Cara's mom and dad have been coming by about once or twice a week so far to help us out with the chores, and I think they still plan to do so for the next few weeks. I've got to say... their help has been overwhelmingly useful. Thanks to them for all the help!

My code is done compiling, so I should say goodbye.
