Hey all,
Just back from Maia's 2-month appointment at the pediatrician. She had several immunizations today and handled it like a pro. She certainly screamed a bit, but she calmed down quickly and is now completely asleep upstairs in her crib. This was my first experience of feeling the sadness of seeing her in pain. What an emotion that is! I'm sure I'll feel it many, many more times as a mother . . . and I'm sure I'll cry many more times, too, just like this morning. But anyway, we need to keep an eye out for the side-effects of the shots, like a fever, fussiness, soreness, etc.
She weighs a full 12 lbs. now (just over, actually), which means she's gained over 4.5 pounds since birth! What a big girl! She's also over 23 inches long. All of these stats put her in the 80th-90th percentile range for her size, which means she's eating and growing like a champ. She's just awesome, and I'm so proud of her and of Brian and myself.

Man, that's no fair. Maia gains 4.5 lbs in, like, 8 weeks, and everyone thinks it's awesome. Me, I can gain twice that in ONE week, and no one's calling ME a champ!
