Weekend stuff.

Yesterday was our first trip out of Ann Arbor with the little one; we went to East Lansing to visit Nonna Dawn and Great-Grandparents Nannie and Papa! Maia also had the opportunity to meet Maureen, Toby, and Lydia. It was a very busy day indeed, but Maia handled it like a pro. The original plan was to have our first overnight visit, but due to the terrible weather here in Michigan today (Sunday), we decided to drive home last night rather than get stuck in freezing rain and snow.

Brian got to go to the Winter Beer Fest in Old Town Lansing, which he thoroughly enjoyed.

Maia is upstairs napping right now, where she's been for the last 30 minutes or more. The daytime nap is our current challenge--she just doesn't seem to want to sleep during the day, so it is very cool indeed that she's still asleep upstairs. Maureen gave us a very cool little noise player that has sounds of the ocean, a stream, wind chimes, etc. It's intended for meditation, but it's also perfect for helping baby sleep, it seems.

On Tuesday Maia has her 2-month visit at the pediatrician, where she gets a whole bunch of immunizations. I guess this round of shots often causes fever and aches and general uneasiness, so we're preparing for a tough night of sleep on Tuesday PM. Nonna Dawn is going to come to Ann Arbor on Wednesday afternoon to help out; it's very likely that I won't have slept much the previous night, so I might be in desperate need of a nap on Wednesday.

A funny event this week: we're going to go to our Lamaze teacher's current class to speak as the "expert" parents of a new baby! Ha! The purpose isn't really to discuss parenting, but rather to talk about the labor and delivery experience, so the label of "expert" isn't quite as hilarious to me. But still.

We have a bunch of new photos and, as per Tia Jo's request, a few videos. They'll be posted soon.

Ach, I wish I could have been there for the Nannie meeting!!! She must have just absolutely dissolved into a puddle of joyful tears. I can't imagine what a thrill that must have been, for them both - to meet their great-grandchild! Wow. Probably few things could possibly bring them more happiness - probably nothing, in fact. I'm so glad you guys made it there for a visit.

It seems like everything's going great! So very, very cool. I can't wait to see you all again, whenever that finally happens...

That is one cute kid! I was wondering if you know someone who can score us some tickets to visit Baby G. I've been keeping an eye out on Ticketmaster but no luck--sold out! Also, E-Bay bids are through the roof so that's out. I have a couple buddies that would join me so if you can get 3, front row center, for this Friday or Saturday, let me know. See you soon,
