We went to the pediatrician this morning, and it turns out that Maia has a case of the croup! Her case is very mild, so we're lucky; she's not doing the constant, repetitive "barking" thing that characterizes a bad case. In fact, she's napping right now, which is a good indication that she doesn't have it bad.
She had a dose of steroids at the doc's, and some Tylenol to take down her 101-degree fever. Fortunately, Nana Dawn is here today to spend the day with us, so I'll be able to go to work for a couple of hours to prep for my class tonight without dragging little sicko Maia along with me.
And another bit of good news: she doesn't have an ear infection to go along with it! :) That's probably a sign that she's not going to be prone to ear infections, because this would have been a prime opportunity for her to get one.
