Maia is 23 months old today. We started this snowy day with a trip to Zingerman's for coffee, and here is a bit of the conversation that we had in the car:
C: "See the people walking on the sidewalk? They all have bags. Some are backpacks, and some are shoulder bags, like Maia's."
M: "Maia has a bag on her shoulder. Maia's bag is very, very big!"
C: "Is Mama's bag big or little?"
M: "Mama's bag is very, very little." (This sounds like "bewy, bewy widdle" when she says it.)
C: "It is pretty small! Another word for 'little' is 'small'. People say 'small' sometimes, too."
M: "Mama's bag is small, actually."
I've never heard her say "actually" before, and she had to repeat it a couple of times before I was able to figure out that this was the word she was saying. :)
