Most of the time, Maia refers to her little brother as "Eeez," so, in her honor, here are a few little updates on how Little Eeez is doing:
- He loves to sit up and observe the world, and he often ends up looking down at his belly and grabbing his shirt or pants. He's especially fascinated by the belts in his carseat.
- His old darker hair is almost completely gone (except for a little patch at the back of his head), and his new hair is light brown or dark blond.
- He's dong a great job grabbing hands, fingers, clothing, and a few of his toys.
- He's drooling a lot and chewing on his fingers and knuckles, so perhaps teeth are on their way?
- He weighs well over 20 pounds.
- Different variations of sounds are coming into his babbling. He growls when he's sleepy or hungry, laughs and giggles a lot with a distinct "Ha!" sound, and has some favorite words: "oooh-guh" and "uh-buh" are among them.
- He still doesn't usually sleep for stretches of time longer than four or five hours, but he goes to sleep very easily, so the frequent wakings aren't taking the toll on me that they did when Maia was little (she really fought going back to sleep).
- He's able to roll up onto his side from his back occasionally, but doesn't seem particularly interested in doing so most of the time.
