Words of wisdom from Maia

Overheard . . .
  • while standing in our two-hour (!) line to vote on Tuesday, Maia said "Vote Obama!" about three times in the first ten minutes.
  • after explaining to her that one shouldn't campaign in line, she kept repeating "No campaigning in line!"
  • another of our favorite November 4 phrases, now included in Maia's repertoire: "Bye bye, President Bush!"
  • and yes, we're now freely encouraging her to say "President Obama" to her little heart's content.
Maia's now frequently saying "I love you, Mama!" and "I love you, Dada!" This one is just as heartwarming as everyone told me it would be. It is especially toasty warm when she says it over the phone; maybe it's because I already miss her when I'm not with her? :)

A current favorite of mine, thanks to Halloween, is how Maia says the word "Scary." She pronounces it "Skay-you." It sounds like she's intending to say "scare you," but I think she's using the same word for both meanings. It comes out the same no matter what the context.
