- At school, when she discovered that they had a book about Jupiter in the classroom, she asked her teacher, "Ms. Mariann, do you have a book about Mercury?"
- Also at school, she gave a mini-lecture on predators and their place in the food chain to her classmates.
- While she had some free time to write and draw, she created two books with the words to the song "Doe, a Deer" in them. (The text she writes is still letter-strings, sometimes matching the sounds of the words, sometimes not.) Then, in front of the whole group during their second daily circle time, she said "Okay class, I have a song to sing." She proceeded to stand up near the teacher's chair, hold the book open as if she was reading it, and then she sang all of "Doe, a Deer" to the class, twice.
- She wrote a note to her Daddy today that said the following (again, in letter-strings): "Dear Daddy, I love you. I love you so much I can't hold it. I love you so much that you need to stay here all day long. You need to stay here and not go to work and not go to any conferences. I love you. Maia."

Yet another post
Sorry for the flurry of posts in the last couple of days--there's just a lot I want to record. This one will be pretty quick; I thought I'd write down a few of the things Maia did today.

"I love you so much I can't hold it" is one of the most beautiful things I've ever read! Oh my.... love it.
