Books

I thought I'd take a moment to compile a list of the books that have been the most helpful to me throughout this pregnancy/birth/early parenting process. I realized the other day that I'll have a difficult time remembering these resources in a few months, and I really value all that I've learned from them. Perhaps I'll never use them again, perhaps I will. Some of them I'm still reading right now. So, here they are:

Pregnancy and Birth:
The Thinking Woman's Guide to a Better Birth by Henci Goer
Pregnancy, Childbirth and the Newborn by Penny Simkin
The Mayo Clinic Guide to a Healthy Pregnancy
Misconceptions
by Naomi Wolf
Birthing from Within by Pam England
The Mother of All Pregnancy Books by Ann Douglas
Hypnobirthing by Marie Mongan

Nursing:
The Nursing Mother's Companion by Kathleen Huggins
The Breastfeeding Cafe by Barbara Behrmann
The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding by the La Leche League

Parenting:
The Baby Book by William and Martha Sears
The Happiest Baby on the Block by Harvey Karp
Secrets of the Baby Whisperer by Tracy Hogg
Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child by Marc Weissbluth
Baby's First Year Journal by A. Christine Harris
Babyhood by Peneolpe Leach
Maternal Desire by Daphne de Marneffe
