Hello readers! I hope that everyone is doing well at the end of this lovely month of May. Maia will be five months old this Saturday, and this photo indicates her current fascination: chewing on everything she can get her hands on! Great Grandma Mary gave her this rubber ducky that lights up when it's wet, and you can see that Maia enjoys it. There are a bunch of other new photos posted on the website, so check them out when you have the chance!
The newest developments in Maia's little life are as follows: 1) She's started talking and laughing quite a lot, although she isn't too willing to demonstrate these skills around people with whom she's not quite familiar. She gets quiet and contemplative around strangers--perhaps she's an introvert at heart, like her Mom? 2) At last blogging, she was sleeping on her side . . . well, now she rolls over completely to sleep on her tummy. Of course, as per the SIDS prevention instructions, I do put her on her back to sleep. But she has other plans and is often flipped onto her belly before I've left the room.
We went out for Korean food for dinner this evening (at Ann Arbor's famed Kosmo Lunch Counter--a hybrid of Korean, Chicago hot dog joint, and vegetarian food!) and saw a very little four-week old boy. Maia is just enormous by comparison! Granted, he was born at 5 lbs. 6 oz., and still hasn't reached Maia's birth weight. But still, my goodness, how big she's become! :)
