Hi everyone! I just wanted to check-in and say "hello" while Maia is in the early stages of her PM nap. Who knows how long this will last, so, I'll make it relatively brief.
I hope there are readers out there who can echo this feeling that I'm having today: I love the city I live in! Maia and I drove downtown at about 11:30 or so this morning, and I was able to find a sweet parking spot right near the State/Liberty Street intersection (my fellow Ann Arbor residents--past and present--get me on this one!). I put Maia's sun hat on and put her in the sling, and off we went! After stopping to pick up a small decaf coffee, we started walking along the streets near Michigan's campus. Here's what I love about Ann Arbor today: even in the midst of the not-so-busy spring term, and even on a weekday, the sidewalks were very busy and the tables lining the streets were filled with people eating lunch, chatting with friends, and studying. The sun is beautiful today, and the trees and grass are at the height of their greenness at this time of year. We walked across the Diag on campus, through the Law Quad, and back down State Street again to get to Kerrytown.
Just being outside on a day like today makes me proud that Brian and I have chosen to raise Maia here. Yay! :)
