Random midweek thoughts.

1) Maia's first little cold was a piece of cake! She was stuffy and had a little cough for the first three days--S, M, Tu--this week, but she's all better now. It did disrupt her sleep quite a bit, but she slept for nine hours straight last night. So yes, she's definitely better. :)

2) Cool Aunt Katie is running her first MARATHON (yep, that's 26.2 miles, folks!) this weekend in Anchorage. Send some "awesome endurance" vibes her way.

3) I observed Class Two of our six-week childbirth class last night. So, that's four hours of observation down, eight more to go. It is really, really cool to be in the class again after having gone through labor. Honestly, it makes me want to do labor all over again, but with fewer interventions! Yep, I'm actually someone who's saying: "More hours of pain? Bring 'em on!" (These last few sentences are not at all a comment on whether or not we'll ever have another kid--they're just an indication of what a treasure my labor/birth experience was.)

4) Ann Arbor rules all. I brewed a travel mug of coffee this morning and then Maia and I were off to walk around downtown in the glorious sunshine. It really is a dazzling, beautiful day. (As a side note: is there anyone else out there who takes note of a gorgeous, sunny day like this and thinks, "It's just like it was on 9/11"? I feel weird that I think that, but my memory of that day unfailingly includes the beautiful, clear, crisp weather. Hmm.) Anyway, we went to the downtown Border's, watched a couple shop employees sweeping their patches of sidewalk, and then sat on one of the benches in the middle of the Diag on campus and played in the sun. Maia insisted on eating the strings on her sun hat.
