Maia's menu has recently included two favorites: bagel with cream cheese (Zingerman's, of course) and hummus with pita bread! :) She especially enjoyed the hummus--probably because of all the garlic flavor she's already gotten used to via my milk.
Also, we booked our tickets to fly to New York City to visit Tia Jo on November 9th. The flight is just under two hours, and I'm really looking forward to the trip itself, and also to seeing Maia go through all of these new experiences: planes, taxi cabs, the subway, Central Park, and the busy streets of Manhattan! I think it's way cool that she's going to see the Metropolitan Museum of Art before she's one year old. I think we're going to spend most of our time just relaxing and wandering around the Upper East Side, but we'll probably venture out of that part of town once or twice. Perhaps a visit to Ground Zero . . . I visited the Trade Center the last time I was in the city in 1999. Weird.

Don't forget Majadra!!! She loved that too :)
What is majadra?
Out of pure curiosity, how do you manage a car seat with a taxi cab and walking around the city?
Hey again--
We're not bringing a car seat or a stroller. She'll be in a baby carrier, and I'll belt her into the taxis with me. At least, that's the plan!
We probably won't take taxis that much anyway, since it's so much more expensive. We'll be on the subway most of the time, I'm sure! :)
Oh, and majadra is a Middle Eastern dish of rice, lentils, garlic, onion and some salt (I think that's it!).
