Life is very full.

It's been one of those weeks in which time seemed to stand still and fly past, almost simultaneously. We're doing a lot around here these days:
  • Brian's organizing our neighborhood Ice Cream Social, which is happening tomorrow afternoon.
  • I just completed the second-to-last step in obtaining my State of Michigan day care license; I just have to purchase and put up a couple of new fire extinguishers, and I'm official!
  • I'm working on certification for my other two jobs: 1) Lamaze Childbirth Educator certification, and 2) Birth Doula certification. Both of these involve seminars, reading, and paperwork, paperwork, paperwork . . .
  • Brian's creating, writing, and presenting a talk for his software developers community. He did it here in Ann Arbor last week, and hopefully will present again soon in Lansing or elsewhere.
  • We're organizing a debate-night house party next week (along with our friends the Coffmans, of "baby born on the front lawn" fame), during which an Obama campaign representative will speak and we'll have snacks and perhaps a game of "Debate Bingo."
  • I'm maintaining my usual teaching schedule.
  • I'm mentoring our newest childbirth educator.
  • I just interviewed with and confirmed my next doula client, for November.
  • Brian's working 50-ish hours a week, as always.
  • I'm at home with busy, talkative, active, curious Maia, as always.
At the moment, I'm so tired that I have funny things happening with my vision (weird blobs of light!) and a massive headache. Maia's napping right now, and I need to turn off NPR, publish this post, and do the same.
