This morning Maia was exploring our room, and she discovered her Boppy nursing pillow tucked into a corner. We haven't used it during our nursing sessions for several months, but Maia grabbed it, carried it over to me, and said "Mama, milk." She wasn't asking to nurse this time (the tone of voice she used was different); she was remembering her nursing sessions of the past when the pillow was our constant accessory.
Throughout this process of raising her and nursing her into toddlerhood, I've always hoped that she'd remember it as she grew older. Obviously, now, she has memories of her earlier nursing sessions when we used to use the Boppy. This was a wonderful moment for me, and I wanted to make sure I wrote it down before it slipped away.
