So proud!

It's been a challenging few days full of ups and downs, but we're really proud around here! The potty training train has left the station, and we're not turning back this time. :) We started on Saturday with a very structured, every-30-minutes routine of checking for dry undies, trying to use the potty, etc. Maia had about the same number of accidents on Saturday as she had successful potty trips, but that was up to a ratio of 5 successes for just 1 accident on Sunday.

Once we were back into the weekday routine (complete with one fewer parent and two extra kids in the house) we encountered some additional logistical challenges, but we're back in business today. As of this blog writing, Maia has not had a single pee accident all day! Awesome! (Bowel movement success is a bit down the road, and that's just fine with us.)

So, we're well on our way to my personal, compelling goal of trying to ensure that I don't have two kids in diapers. :) Also, with Maia headed to preschool in August, being potty trained is a necessity for many of our options in that department. All in all, it looks like she's got it, and she seems really motivated and happy to add this "big kid" skill to her list.

I'm getting a timer today to help me remember "potty time!"

Ooh, someday she is going to HATE YOU for posting this online... And she'll go get something pierced to get back at you for it. Mark my words.
