Thank you, Maia ...

... for our wake-up routine.

I hear you calling to me from your room, saying "Mama, Mama, look out the window!" The sun is up, and I come in your room and we pull aside the curtain and the blinds together to see our snowy backyard in the dim morning light.

Then, next, you say "Guess what big kids do when they wake up? Pee-pee on the potty!" and off you go, for your first trip to the potty for the day. Your big-girl PJs, your socks flopping loosely off of your toes as you walk down the hall ... and, always, your crazy morning hair.

Then, my favorite: Cuddle Time! You announce "It's Cuddle Time!" and we jump onto my side of the bed to cuddle for as long as you're up for it. You dig down under the covers with your head on my pillow, and I can feel your knees and feet wiggling to find the best spot. We talk about your dreams last night, your potty successes, our plans for the day, Daddy's whereabouts ... whatever is in the forefront of your mind.
