Stuff

Hello everyone! Happy Wednesday.

This essay was something I found on one of the websites that I read occasionally. The author's sentiments echo many of the things that I've thought over the last year. As many of our blog readers know, Brian and I are pretty sure (maybe 80%?) that Maia's going to be the only child in our family. The reactions that we get to that information (when we choose to share it) are various and quite interesting. I think that this writer very nicely explains what it feels like to be absolutely positive that you want to have one child, and (almost) absolutely positive that you don't want another. And no, it has nothing to do with the challenges of having an infant in the house, or the physical and emotional undertaking that is labor (I'd do that again tomorrow if someone would let me! Just let me get a good night's sleep first . . .).

In other news, Maia had her last swimming class at the YMCA with Brian on Monday. They'll probably sign up for another session coming up soon, but Maia's graduated from the Beginner class for now! Yay! I got to go and take some pictures this time; I usually teach a childbirth class on Mondays, but this time around my class is on Wednesdays instead. It was a treat to go to watch Maia enjoy the pool. As you can see from the photos, she takes the whole process quite seriously, but she really enjoys it and seems eager to get in the water as soon as she can. I can't wait to take her to Lake Charlevoix with my family in August!
